Technical requirements for servers and workstations
Check the recommended configuration for servers, workstations and virtual machines according to your number of users.
The following technical requirements set out the recommended configurations for using Ubyquo on servers, workstations and virtual machines.
The configuration you need depends mainly on the number of users and the workload of the environment.
Server
The minimum configuration shown is valid when users work from their own computers and the server is used mainly to host the database and Ubyquo's core services.
| Usage volume | Operating system | Processor | RAM | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum (basic use) | Windows 11 / Windows Server 2019 | Intel i5 12th gen or Xeon E-2336 | 16 GB / 24 GB | 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD |
| Low (0-6 users) | Windows 11 / Windows Server 2022 | Intel i7 13th gen or Xeon E-2356G | 24 GB / 32 GB | 2 × 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in RAID |
| Medium (7-14 users) | Windows Server 2022 | Xeon Gold 5315Y, Gold 5320 or AMD EPYC 7313P | 32 GB / 48 GB | 2 × 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in RAID |
| High volume (15-20 users) | Windows Server 2022 or later | Xeon Platinum 8352Y, Platinum 8360Y or AMD EPYC 7543P | 64 GB / 80 GB | 2 × 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in RAID |
Workstations
The following configuration is intended for the computers from which users regularly work with Ubyquo.
| Configuration | Operating system | Processor | RAM | Storage | Monitors |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 11 | Ryzen 5 5500U or Core i3 12th gen | 16 GB | 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD | 2 × 19" |
| Optimal | Windows 11 | Core i5 13th gen, Core i7 13th gen or Ryzen 7 5800X | 16 GB | 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD | 2 × 24" |
Using two monitors makes it easier to view documents side by side and work with several windows.
Virtual machines
In virtualized environments, we recommend assigning the virtual machine resources equivalent to those listed for physical servers, adjusted to the number of users.
| Usage volume | Operating system | Virtual CPU | RAM | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 11 / Windows Server 2019 | 2 vCPU | 16 GB | 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD |
| Low (0-6 users) | Windows 11 / Windows Server 2022 | 4 vCPU | 24 GB | 2 × 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in RAID |
| Medium (7-14 users) | Windows Server 2022 | 6 vCPU | 32 GB | 2 × 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in RAID |
| High volume (15-20 users) | Windows Server 2022 or later | 8-12 vCPU | 64-80 GB | 2 × 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in RAID |
Recommendations for virtualized environments
- Set up storage with NVMe RAID to have a fast, redundant storage system.
- Assign fixed memory to the virtual machine.
- Avoid CPU overallocation to keep performance stable.
Additional recommendations
Servers
We recommend using NVMe M.2 SSDs in RAID to speed up data access and provide storage redundancy.
Monitors
Using two monitors makes it easier to work with documents and lets you view several windows at the same time.
Operating system
Keep Windows up to date and use active licenses to reduce possible compatibility problems.
Environments with large volumes of data
In environments with a high volume of data, we recommend using SQL Server Standard on a dedicated server for optimal performance.
